D-Day 80 at Langham
Posted by LPC on June 8, 2024
Alongside the big National Commemoration Events, Langham played its own small part by lighting the village beacon at 9.15pm on the 6th June. Thank you to all of the 200 or so villagers who came along to the event. Special thanks are due to the the following:
Liz Schofield for her moving reading of the International Tribute to the D-Day veterans.
The Boxted Branch of the Royal British Legion for providing the Flag Bearer and running a bar for us.
Langham Community Shop for running a hot drinks service counter.
The Hygge Harmony Community Choir for serenading us with thirty melodic voices.
The Schofields for providing one of their vans as a stage for the Choir.
Brewers for preparing and lighting the Beacon.
